After the continued success of the Danish broadcasts of Season 1 through Season 4 of the series, Season 5 was produced from May 2023 to September 2023. Filming took place once again in Helsingør, Denmark, based on the successful “Dan Sommerdahl” novel series by Anna Grue (published by Piper Verlag).

Dan Sommerdahl is a police officer in Helsingør, the town where he grew up. He has known his wife Marianne, as well as his best friend Flemming, since their school days, and today, all three are colleagues at the same police station. Marianne’s desire to separate from Dan at the beginning of the series unfortunately complicates their collaboration. Dan and Flemming investigate cases within the society of a small town on the Danish coast. Marianne is the chief forensic scientist, and together, the three form an “almost” inseparable trio.

Amidst the beautiful, seemingly peaceful coastal landscape of Denmark, murders occur that, despite all personal adversities, are solved with a great deal of sensitivity and experience.
